Cape Lambert – Air Conditioner Upgrade Works
Client – Rio Tinto

Location – Cape Lambert Port, Wickham, Western Australia

Completion date – July 2023

The Rio Tinto Sustaining Capital Projects division at Cape Lambert required the assistance of an expert HVAC company to complete the installation of new Air Conditioning equipment on the sites aging substation assets. Rapid Air consulted with the project lead to manage and deliver upgrades to the HVAC equipment of multiple substation locations around the site.
Challenges overcome during Project
The client was left holding onto a variety of new air-conditioning assets that had been purchased as part of a previous project to complete upgrades that had fallen through due to the pandemic. Rapid Air was able to complete an Audit of the left-over HVAC equipment and write new scopes of work to utilise as much of the equipment as possible to save the client time and money, whilst completing the works to a high level finish and within the boundaries of Rio Tinto’s standards for Air Conditioning.
