Taylor Barracks Airconditioning Upgrade
Client – Reliable Asset Maintenance
Location – Karratha, Western Australia
Completion date – May 2022
Opening in 1993, The Taylor Barracks in Karratha serves as the operational facility for the Pilbara Regiment. The Airconditioning assets on the site, after 30 years of service in the Pilbara summer required an upgrade to more efficient and reliable equipment. Rapid Air was able to assist with writing the scope of works, supplying and installing HVAC assets to all occupied buildings within the facility.
Challenges overcome during Project
One of the challenges faced during the project completion was the air handling unit for the main administration building would not fit through the building to be installed into the internal plant room. Rapid Air with the assistance of a local building company was able to remove an external wall of the building to give access directly to the plant room. Once the Air handling unit was manoeuvred into the plantroom the wall was re-instated, patched and painted back to a high level finish.
